The Maryland Gerontological Association invites researchers, practitioners, educators, clinicians, students, and aging services  professionals to submit proposals for upcoming virtual programs. This is an opportunity to share expertise, elevate  professional visibility, and contribute to conversations shaping the field of aging across Maryland and beyond.

SESSION FORMATS

CEU Educational Sessions (60 minutes)

Structured presentations advancing professional knowledge and skills in gerontology, aging services, or related disciplines.  Format includes a 45–50 minute presentation with 10–15 minutes of Q&A; and clearly defined learning objectives aligned  with CEU requirements (e.g., OT, Social Work, Care Manager). MGA will work with presenters to determine CEU eligibility, when applicable.

Coffee Break Conversations (30 minutes)

Informal, facilitated discussions designed to spark conversation, reflection, and connection around timely aging-related topics. Format includes brief framing or discussion prompts followed by guided participant conversation.  Sessions are interactive and engagement-focused.

Professional Development Sessions (30–60 minutes | Non-CEU)

Sessions focused on career growth, leadership, visibility, and skill-building rather than formal content instruction. Formats  emphasize facilitated discussion, interactive activities, and practical takeaways. Topics may include career pathways,  leadership development, communication skills, mentorship, resilience, or professional visibility.

Research Spotlight Sessions (30–60 minutes)

Sessions highlighting ongoing, completed, or pilot research related to aging and older adults. Presentations should cover  background, methods, key findings, and implications for practice, policy, or future research. Particularly encouraged for  graduate students, early career scholars, and applied researchers.
